General Rules

Requirements

Participants are to be divided in two groups, depending on their age:

Youth Group (National Level)

This group is for pianists that are either Mexican or foreigners living in Mexico, reaching their 21st birthday on or before November 22nd 2018.

All the participants under 21 years old, who consider themselves able to present the Adults Group repertoire, can present themselves in the previously mentioned group, playing the corresponding repertoire, at their own responsibility.

Adults Group (International Level)

This group is for pianists that are either Mexican, foreigners living in Mexico or pianists originating from Latin American countries*, reaching their 29th birthday on or before November 22nd 2018.

* Latin American Countries: Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Dominican Republic, Uruguay, Venezuela.

Mandatory Documents

  1. Registration Application. The application should be correctly filled with the required information and signed by the participant. It can be filled by computer and printed, or printed and filled by hand using print letter. The file of the registration application will be available shortly in this section.
  2. Copy of birth certificate.
  3. Copy of official ID. Copy of the personal ID card (for Mexicans) or the first pages of the passport (for foreigners). (In case the participant is underage and doesn't have neither an ID card nor a passport, a sealed school ID card or some other institution ID card with a photograph of the person can be used).
  4. Copy of the corresponding immigration document for foreigners residing in Mexico.
  5. Recommendation letters from two professional musicians who have knowledge of the participant's pianistic career.
  6. Artistic resume. Must be prepared to be included in the book of the competition, and must contain:
    • Information on musical studies.
    • Names of educational institutions from which you have received your musical formation.
    • List of professors that have been crucial in your pianistic formation.
    • List of awards, acknowledgements and distinctions.
  7. Proof, certificate or diploma of music studies. In case the participant has won competitions, attach copies of the recognition documents or diplomas that are mentioned in the resume.
  8. Two recent photographs (no more than 3 months old), passport size in color, for the registration application and for the Competition's archive; and one high resolution artistic photograph for the Competition's book.
    * Very important: The artistic resume and the artistic photograph must be recorded on a separate CD.
  9. For Mexicans or foreigners residing in Mexico

    Cover the fee in the amount of $500.00 MXN for the DVD Qualification Stage. You should attach a copy of the payment receipt from the bank. The bank account where you can deposit the fee is:

    For Latin American Participants

    To cover the registration fee, send $30 USD to the PayPal account administracion@cndepianojjcuevas.com

    You must send an e-mail to the organizational committee to notify of your payment, so that in a period of no more than 24 hours the committee could confirm the payment receival.

    It's recommendable to make the deposit on the same day you send your documentation.

  10. DVD with the material required for the Qualification Stage.
    For the video recording only NTSC Video DVDs are to be accepted.
    Neither Mini DVDs nor CDs will be accepted, only regular DVDs with the previously mentioned format.

All the documents must be sent via express courier services (such as DHL, FedEx, UPS, Estafeta, etc.) until June 15th 2018.

No documents will be accepted if their sent date is after June 15th 2018.

* Very important: on the day the participant sends his/her documents, he/she must inform the members of the organizational committee via an e-mail containing the tracking number and the name of the courier company used to send the package.

Once the documents are received, the organizational committee will review and watch the DVD recordings for the Qualification Stage.

The Organizational Committee will inform the candidates that have been selected to participate in the Competition no later than July 13th 2018 via e-mail.

Application Fee

After receiving confirmation of participation in the Competition, the registration fee must be paid immediately (until July 20th 2018):

For Mexicans or foreigners residing in Mexico

Cover the participation fee in the amount of $1,300.00 MXN. You should attach a copy of the payment receipt from the bank. The bank account where you can deposit the fee is:

For Latin American Participants

To cover the registration fee, send $85.00 USD to the PayPal account administracion@cndepianojjcuevas.com
